Our Team

Meet our friendly team

All our staff are highly qualified, skilled and experienced professional physiotherapists. They all undertake regular post - graduate training to ensure they are kept up to date with all current techniques. All staff are members of the C.S.P , H.P.C and O.C.P.P.P. You will find them to be friendly, efficient and courteous.


Andrea Wright , founding director, qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist, from Sheffield City Polytechnic, in 1988 and worked at Wythenshawe Hospital for 13 years. She has worked primarily with musculoskeletal conditions and worked with Sale and Manchester Rugby teams in the 1990’s. She has attended many post-graduate courses including kinetic control stability modules, orthopaedic medicine, the MACP course, and Muscle Energy Techniques. Andrea has worked as a clinical specialist in the management of non-surgical LBP patients. She left the NHS in 2001 to expand work at Hands-On Physiotherapy. Andrea has particular interests in the cause and treatment of back pain, occupational health issues and soft tissue injuries related to racquet sports.


Alison Bray (nee Hewett) qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Sheffield City Polytechnic in 1988. She worked in the NHS and then became a clinic manager in South Manchester, where she specialised in musculo-skeletal and occupational health physiotherapy. She completed a post graduate Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapy (MACP) course in 1995 and then joined Hands-On Physiotherapy in July 2005.



Joanne Fleming (nee Thompson) graduated in 2003 from the University of the West of England, Bristol with a BSc (hons) Degree in Physiotherapy. Her career began in the NHS but she now works full time in private sports injury clinics. Jo has an interest in movement biomechanics. Using detailed musculoskeletal assessment, she aims to find the bodies imbalances in order to correct the root causes of the problem, as well as helping with the symptom relief. She has experience of working for Manchester City Football Academy and at competitions such as the National Badminton and National Squash Championships held in Manchester. She regularly treats runners, swimmers, tennis players, weight lifters and ballet dancers and has an excellent understanding of sports related injury. Jo is committed to life long learning and participates in regular training courses to ensure there are a wide range of evidence based treatments within her scope. She uses acupucture and dry needling along with more conventional physiotherapy techniques to ensure successful treatment. She will ensure you have a full understanding of the nature of your symptoms and help you to stop the problem from recurring in the future.


Hilary Bootland is our main receptionist / administrator and joined the practice in the spring of 2007. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of running of a busy, successful business.







Chloe Wright is our Saturday receptionist. She is experienced in all aspects of the running of the practice. Chloe has a keen interest in sports and plays for Cheshire Netball.
